VIRATEC, Ltd is a company 100% owned by Ventspils University of Applied Sciences (VUAS), which was set up as the commercial arm of VIRAC - Ventspils International Radio Astronomy Centre (a research institute at VUAS) to bring the 32 m and 16 m antenna based services to Latvian, EU and global space industry as well as to develop Ground Segment services and capabilities in Latvia.
The key technologies available are the 32 m and 16 m Cassegrain antennas, the subsequent feed systems and RF equipment as well as antenna control systems.
Additionally, a low frequency array - LOFAR, as well as mechanical, cryogenics and electronics workshops are available.
