On 15 and 16 May, Riga will host the Deep Tech Atelier 2025 conference, the largest science-intensive industry event in the Baltics. The event will bring together more than 1500 scientists, technology experts, entrepreneurs, investors, as well as representatives of public administration and public organisations with the aim of establishing new collaborations and promoting business development in knowledge-intensive industries.
The Deep Tech Atelier conference is organised by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) and this year it will take place for the seventh time. The event is a platform to explore the latest trends in technology, investment, entrepreneurship and science, exchange business ideas, meet industry leaders and forge new international partnerships. "The conference will offer a great opportunity to make new contacts, pitch your ideas to potential investors, participate in exciting workshops and be inspired by success stories from the tech world. It is an opportunity not only to learn about the latest developments, but also to get involved in building a knowledge ecosystem," said Ieva Jager, Director of LIAA.
The main topics of the conference will be quantum technologies, artificial intelligence, space and defence technologies, while also looking at the latest developments in investment attraction and commercialisation of innovations. The programme will include expert presentations, discussions, masterclasses and networking sessions. The event will also include a start-up pitch competition, live stands, investor presentations and other activities to create new business opportunities.
Conference partners and participants will include representatives from research, technology development and entrepreneurship organisations, including Riga Technical University, the Latvian Space Association, the Latvian Quantum Initiative, the Commercialisation Reactor, the innovation and entrepreneurship portal "Labs of Latvia", the Latvian Patent Board and the EU Intellectual Property Office EUIPO, the platform "BioPfot", Latvian Science Council , "Riga TechGirls", the Latvian start-up association "Startin.LV", the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Economics, the European Organization for Nuclear Research CERN, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development OECD, the startup accelerator "Plug and Play", several seed capital funds including "ScalewWolf" and "HiQ", as well as technology companies "Nvidia", "Infineon", innovation agency "Sprind", the European Innovation Council, Latvian and foreign accelerators "Unilab", the NATO Innovation Fund.
Funding for the measure is provided by the ERDF projects "SME Innovative Business Development" and "Support for the Improvement of the Technology Transfer System", the European Recovery Fund and the state budget.
