Learn more about ESA HERA mission and how Latvian innovation is helping to make it a reality. Watch live interview with ESA systems engineer Paolo Martino and Eventech BDM Adam Adamovich on 31st October .
The Hera mission is part of the European Space Agency's (ESA) planetary defence strategy, aimed at studying asteroids to better understand and protect our planet. Launched on 7th October, the Hera mission is on course to reach a unique target among the more than 1.3 million known asteroids in our Solar System, aiming to solve mysteries associated with asteroid deflection. Latvia has also made significant contributions to the mission’s development and finalisation.
The Latvian startup company, Eventech, participated in the Hera mission by developing an advanced time-measuring instrument with precision down to 2 picoseconds (0.000,000,000,002 seconds). This high-level participation was made possible through investments by the Ministry of Education and Science in the ESA’s programmes, under which this technology was developed.
On 31st October, Paolo Martino, a systems engineer at ESA, and Adam Adamovich, Business Development Manager from Eventech, will share their insights into the mission and the technology that makes it possible. Gain valuable knowledge about the intersection of space exploration and cutting-edge technology, and learn how even small nations can have a significant impact on the space industry.
