Act in Space is a 24h non-stop hackathon format created by French National Space Agency (CNES) and European Space Agency (ESA) that runs worldwide every 2 years. Latvia is a participating country, and this year, it will also host an Act in Space hackathon on 19 and 20 November in Riga, Latvia.
Act In Space is a superb opportunity for teams to engage with the space industry. Offering teams an authentic experience of working in the space sector and solving challenges for a prize that truly is out of this world.
The winners of the Latvian stage of the competition will win mentoring session for the finals from the Commercialization Reactor and have the chance to attend the international final in Toulouse, France. While presenting their projects to a jury of international experts on technology transfer and business development, they will meet the other winning teams and accomplished space industry members.
The main focus of the competition is the development of space start-ups into commercial entities, showing that space is more than research and exploration; that space technology can be used for the benefit of Earth and also for the Latvian economy and society!
AIS is brought to Latvia by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, the Latvian Space Industry Association (LAIK) and the Ministry of Education and Science.
Event is organized in framework of the LIAA projects Innovation Motivation Program and is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the European Union.
