Apply now: 

1. Type A – Research & Preparatory Activities

Feasibility studies, conceptual design work, and early-stage demonstrators.

TRL: 1–3

Funding: Up to €150,000 (100% funded)

Duration: 9–15 months

Eligibility: Led by industry, academia, or other national entities

 

2. Type B – Flight & Ground Segment R&D

Development of equipment, subsystems, or software for space and ground use.

TRL: 3–5

Funding: Up to €300,000–400,000 (100% funded)

Duration: 15–24 months

Eligibility: Industry-led (academia can be subcontractors)

Note: Involvement of an end customer is recommended

 

3. Type F – Downstream Applications

Turn space data into real-world services using EO, GNSS, or SatCom.

TRL: 6–8

Funding: Up to €200,000 (25% co-funded)

Duration: 9–15 months

Eligibility: Led by industry/application developers

Note: Customer involvement is required as a subcontractor

4. Type D – Space Science Activities

Advance Latvia’s scientific presence in ESA missions.

Funding: Up to €100,000 (100% funded)

Duration: Up to 48 months

Eligibility: Academic/research institutions only

Note: Pure scientific research (no TRL required)

 

5. Type G1 – Education Activities

Create or improve BSc/MSc programs aligned with the space sector.

Funding: €70,000–90,000 (100% funded)

Duration: Up to 36 months

Eligibility: Latvian universities (industry may participate as subcontractors)

 

6. Type G2 – PhD Co-Sponsored Research Projects

Collaborative PhD projects between universities and industry.

Funding: Up to €80,000 from ESA + β‰₯€10,000 from industry (co-funding required)

Duration: 36 months

Eligibility: Led by Latvian universities with a Latvian industrial partner
