Opportunity: Professor Bernard Foing's seminar "Earth-Moon-Mars Missions, Instruments, Space Photonics, Laboratory and Field Tests, Astronauts Training, Innovation, and Business"

Professor Bernard Foing's scientific seminar at the Institute of Astronomy at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Latvia (UL) and UL NSP FOTONIKA-LV, titled "Earth-Moon-Mars Missions, Instruments, Space Photonics, Laboratory and Field Tests, Astronauts Training, Innovation, and Business", will be held online on Zoom on 28th January at 4 PM

In this seminar, Professor Bernard Foing will describe some research highlights from the International Lunar Exploration Working Group (ILEWG) towards the colonization of the Moon and the exploration of Mars. He will also discuss "EuroMoonMars". This ILEWG programme collaborates with space agencies, academia, universities, research institutions, and industries. The program includes research activities for data analysis, instrument tests and development, field tests of MoonMars analogues, pilot projects, training and hands-on workshops and outreach activities. Extreme environments on Earth often provide terrain conditions similar to those on the Moon and Mars sites. Foning will also briefly describe the work of the Earth Space Innovation EMMESI academy and EuroSpaceHub/GreenSpaceHub partners contributing to MoonMars and space missions, Field Research, Astronautics and Entrepreneurship.
The seminar is realized within ERDF project No. 1.1.1.5/2/24/A/004, "ERA Chair in Astrophysics, Instrumentation, Ground Segment Technologies and Space Photonics at the University of Latvia".
